A Web Copywriting Tip by Nick Usborne
Most of your visitors will never return. You’ll never know who they were, or what they wanted. Maybe you didn’t have what they were looking for, but maybe you did and they simply couldn’t find it.
As a marketer, you need to be able to get back to your prospects, as well as your customers. And online the best way to do that right now is to capture as many email addresses as you can.
If you’re serious about email address capture you need to do two things.
First, you need to ask for their email address on the first screen of your home page and any major landing pages. In other words, get to it as quickly as possible on the pages where you get the most visitors.
Second, you need to give them a reason to share their email address.
One way or another, the best reason you can give is to offer them something free.
That free offer may be a trial, a download or the free use of a tool of some kind.
Find an offer that is free, relevant and attractive to your visitors.
And once you start collecting more and more emails, be sure to follow up and convert as many as possible into customers.
