A Web Copywriting Tip by Nick Usborne
It's easy to get a little sloppy with the vocabulary on your web site. It's easy to be inconsistent in the terms and phrases you use when talking about particular products, services, tools and feature on your site.
Go through your site and make sure the terms you use are used consistently, and that they clearly communicate what you are trying to express.
Here are a few common inconsistencies to get you started. Check these out, where applicable, and then think about the language and vocabulary used throughout your site.
Do you have Members or Subscribers?
Do you ask people to Buy, Buy Now or Add to Cart?
Do you ask people to Sign Up or Subscribe?
Do you have an archive of Newsletter Issues or Articles?
Using this site as an example, are you Excess Voice or excessvoice.com or ExcessVoice.com?
As you look through your own pages you'll probably find a few inconsistencies there. Fix them.
