A Web Copywriting Tip by Nick Usborne
When you write a text link, avoid that old favorite, 'Click here'.
This applies to newsletters and emails - but most of all to web pages.
Both Google and your readers are looking for useful, relevant text that will tell them what to expect from the page that follows.
So if you provide a link to a page on memory cards for digital cameras, you might want to write a link that says something like, 'Learn more about memory cards for digital cameras'.
Do that and you're helping both your readers and Google...they both want to know if the page that follows is RELEVANT. That means using descriptive text that includes relevant keywords.
