What is YOUR area of weakness with Site Build It?

Don’t worry, I’ll be confessing my own weakness soon enough.

But let me take a step back for a moment.

All of us are wired in slightly different ways. We have different strengths and weaknesses. Some of us are more intuitive that analytical, and vice versa.

In other words, some of us may excel at writing or design, while others show their strength in math, programming and more analytical tasks.

And this has what to do with Site Build It?

The SBI process...from day one through ten, and beyond...involves a lot of tasks, and a number of different ways of thinking.

We have to be writers and designers. We have to understand HTML or use the SBI templates, and really figure out how to use them. We have to think like marketers and merchandisers. We have to understand at least the basics of search engine optimization. We have to know what a .jpg file is and what RSS means. We have to learn how to set up and place AdSense ads, if we choose to use them. We have to track the ever-shifting supply and demand for various important keywords and phrases. Maybe we’ll need to learn the very detailed, very competitive skill of paid search advertising, with AdWords.

That’s a lot. It’s a lot to do. But more important than that...

It’s asking a lot to expect one person to be able to perform all these different kinds of tasks with equal proficiency.

To be honest, very few of us can really excel in all of these areas.

And here’s the kicker...for your Site Build It site to be firing on all cylinders, you need to do at least a reasonable job in all these areas, and more.

And now for my glaring weakness.

I have been blessed with a very intuitive brain. And I like it that way.

But I do have a lot of trouble with more analytical tasks. Not in every way. But in some ways.

Let me give you an example.

I’m an avid amateur photographer. I have been for over forty years. But to this day, I can never, ever remember whether a narrow aperture setting, say f16, increases or decreases the depth of field in the photograph. I have looked up the answer a hundred times. I have written it down. I have made up rhymes to help me remember.

But nothing works.

There is an area of my brain that is like a vast, empty cavern, with a lone neural ping pong ball floating around, looking for a partner.

Does this present me with a problem with SBI? It sure does.

Unfortunately for me, that empty, missing part of my brain is the part other people use to work with the SiteSell Supply Data information within the Brainstorming tool.

When I come across the terms Google/SSS Ratio and SSS Gen/Adv Ratio, I have absolutely NO idea what they mean, or how to use the tool.

Don’t tell me to read the help file. Done that. Or the forums. Done that too. I’ve tried every which way.

It’s the same problem that I have with the camera aperture. I just have that one ping pong ball, floating, lonesome and lost in the dark.

The thing is. I REALLY need to use that tool. I have no doubt I am losing money, simply because I don’t understand it.

I manage to compensate for that area of weakness by focusing on my areas of strength. But still, I know my site isn’t working as hard as it could.

So what is your area of weakness with SBI?

I’m guessing you have an area of weakness. Most of us do when faced with such a broad variety of tasks.

Unless you’re a polymath, of course...one of those irritating people who seem to be blessed with an equal capacity in both halves of their brain.

So what is your weakness? It’s worth identifying. Because once you have identified it, you can do something about it.

Which brings me to my final point.

I need to email with an SBIer who understands all that SiteSell Supply stuff. I need someone to figure it out for me, with my site keyword.

I don’t want someone to try to explain it to me. You would do better explaining brain surgery to Homer Simpson. I need someone to do it, and give me the results and tell me what they mean...so I can use the best keywords.

In return? Well, my strength is writing. So if that’s not an area of strength for you, let’s trade a few hours of our time. A barter thing.

You help me and I’ll help you.

And maybe other SBIers can hook up in the same way.

And no, this isn’t the same as using the forum. This is about helping one another when we TRULY don’t get something, however often it is explained to us.

Finally, just for the pleasure of it...

Take a few moments to watch this video, made by an SBI owner, all about "the way of the totoise" It's really good...
