Top Home Based Businesses

The Web seems to be awash with ideas for home based businesses. Some are out and out scams and others probably work just fine for some people.

For myself, I can't imagine a better way to make money from home than being a freelance copywriter.

This is what I have done for the last twenty years or so. I have made a six-figure income, bought homes, raised my children...and done it all by working from a home office. In fact, right now I am writing this at my kitchen table.

What makes being a freelance copywriter such a great business? Here are a few benefits you might want to consider...

1. There are no real start-up costs.

If you are reading this, you already have a computer and an internet connection and email. That's pretty much all you need. The only area in which I would encourage you to invest some money is in learning your craft and promoting your business. Buy books on copywriting, take courses, attend seminars if you can.

2. You are in control of your own time.

You can work full-time or part-time, depending on your own personal circumstances. In other words, nobody is telling you what to do and when to do it. For sure, you'll have deadlines on the projects you take on. But you still have a degree of flexibility that I really value.

3. There will ALWAYS be a need for good freelance copywriters.

Companies are constantly downsizing. One day you have a job, the next day you don't. As for all the home business ideas on the web, can you be sure the one you choose will still be around in five years or ten years?

The thing about copywriting is there will always be a need there, regardless of the state of the economy. For myself, over a period of two decades, I have never experienced a slump in demand. I have had good years amnd not so good years...but the not so good ones have been due not to a lack in demand, but because of circumstances in my own life.

In my opinion, freelance copywriting is the top home based business.

How do you get started? As I mentioned before, it does make sense to invest a little in building your skills. And here's a tip for you...if you don't know where to find your "niche' as a freelance copywriter, I would strongly recommend you become a direct marketing copywriter. That is the area in which I have made most of my own money. There is always a strong demand, and clients have money to pay good fees for the writing they need.

And yes, after looking around for years, and in response to request from many of my newsletter subscribers, I have found a course I can recommend without reservation.

So here's my tip. Well, three tips...

First, if you want a top home based business you can depend on for years and years to come...become a freelance copywriter.

Second, if you want to be sure of finding clients who pay fat fees, become a direct marketing copywriter.

Third, if you want to really get started and move quickly to build a strong income, take this course...Michael Masterson's Accelerated Program for Six-Figure Copywriting.

You'll find all the information you need about this copywriting course here...
